AARP defines a senior as a person age 50 or older and states, every 7 seconds an American turns 50! The Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation was developed to focus on the needs of home buyers and sellers age 50 and older. It is awarded only to Realtors who have successfully completed the SRES education program.
Along with their solid foundation as a Realtor, a Realtor who is also a Senior s Real Estate Specialist has the knowledge, understanding and empathy to guide both segments of the senior generation through a residential or investment purchase and sales process .The Senior Real Estate Specialist can also inform Seniors of options that may be available to them, such as, Senior Citizen Property Tax Relief, Reverse Mortgages, use of 401 K, IRAs, and pensions in real estate transactions, types of housing available to seniors in their area and more. In addition, many SRES have extensive networks with other professionals: accountants, estate planners, attorneys, tax advisors, etc, who specialize in working with and meeting the needs of seniors. If you are in the early stages of planning for your senior years or ready to move in to an assisted living facility or somewhere in between, a Seniors Real Estate Specialist can help. | ||
