Congratulations Renee! Our own Renee Grubb, Co-owner of Village Properties, has been elected 2008 Chairwoman for the SB Region Chamber of Commerce. Last Wednesday night at the Four Seasons Biltmore, Renee addressed Chamber members and local business leaders at the Chamber’s 102 Annual Awards dinner. “I am excited and honored to serve as the 2008 chair of the Santa Barbara Region Chamber of Commerce,” Renee said. “I plan to focus on giving extra attention to new members and new businesses. “I also hope to encourage all of us to be advocates for incorporating ‘green’ awareness in our workplaces as well as our homes. I believe that the strong leadership that is represented by the board can be a positive force in setting the tone for our community.” The Chamber raised $100,000 at the event for its new “Chance for Change Scholarship Program.” The program works with the Santa Barbara Scholarship Foundation to provide 25 fully-paid scholarships to students who have either escaped or resisted gang life. “The Chance for Change Scholarship will give much needed assistance to students who have the desire for higher-education, but not the means,” Renee said. “The Scholarship gives them those means so that they can achieve greater success in life.” Renee has been selling real estate in Santa Barbara since 1983. She founded Village Properties in 1996 with Ed Edick, and that same year she was awarded Realtor of the Year by the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors. | ||
