Starbucks in Bainbridge Island

While waiting in line at the voting booth this morning, with Starbuck’s latte in hand, it brought back memories of my days in Seattle, (well actually Bainbridge Island), when Starbucks, created by three academics, opened a store called Starbuck’s Coffee, Tea and Spice, in the fabulous and renown  Seattle Pike Place Market!
It was always a delight to take the morning ferry from Bainbridge Island to Seattle, and stop for my cup of morning Starbucks.  Office goers and tourists alike frequented this phenomenon in the Pike Place market, which at that time, boasted the greatest coffee and tea ever!  It was always so special to bring home a pound or two of the famous Starbucks coffee to entertain and captivate your guests with the promises of a great cup of coffee after the meal!

Hard to believe that from that simple beginning one “mom and pop” shop, that we would see many years later an international presence.  I guess that is progress for you!  I am glad I knew Starbucks when …
