Dog-friendly Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is very dog friendly! I would love to list four of my favorite places to take my dog “Chasey.”

1. The Rose Gardens, across from the Santa Barbara Mission - Very large lovely grassy area for the dogs to socialize and adults to meet new people.

2. Douglas Preserve, off of Mesa Lane - It’s a dog’s heaven on earth, large section for “Off Leash.”

3. Arroyo Burro ( “Hendry’s Beach” for locals) - To the left of the sleuth is “Off Leash.”

4. Ellings Park, off of Las Positas Ave. - You can buy a permit in the City for the dogs to have off leash play time.

My favorite place and Chasey’s when we don’t have too much time is the Rose Gardens park, across from the Santa Barbara Mission.

Be sure to pick up after your dog, though I’m sure you who read this blog are all good, responsible dog owners

In Santa Barbara we have many places to take our dogs, the hiking trails, and the different beaches, We are so lucky to live in this wonderful place.
